Workman Publishing Co.

About them: Workman Publishing Co., Inc., is an independently owned family of publishers. We are publishers of award-winning cookbooks, parenting/pregnancy guides, books on gardening, country living, and humor, as well as children’s books, gift books, fiction, and the bestselling calendar line in the business. Located in the heart of New York’s Greenwich Village, in a converted printers’ building, our offices are high-energy and creative, filled with people who are passionate about what they do. We also have offices in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; North Adams, Massachusetts; and Portland, Oregon.

We love books in our home and were excited to include some books and such from Workman Publishing Co. in our Holiday Gift Guide this year. We received a nice assortment and I couldn’t have been more happy with each and every book and item. The first was Paint By Sticker Kids: Unicorns & Magic. It is for ages 5 and up and my girls just LOVE it! It has a ton of pictures and in the back each picture comes with a sheet of stickers to put on them. It is like a color by number but with stickers and more like a puzzle which adds to the fun. There are 10 pictures total and its just a really fun and entertaining book.

The next book has become an absolute favorite in our house. It is called Outback: The Amazing Animals of Australia created by Dan Kainen and written by Ella Morton. This book is absolutely AWESOME because it is a Photicular book. When you turn the pages the pictures appear to come to life which makes this book all that much better! It goes thru Animals of Australia and makes them come to life before your eyes. It is a really cool book and you really have to see it to appreciate it!

Dinosnores by Sandra Boynton is the next one and is my 3 year old son’s favorite book to read before bed now. It is a board book and a perfect book for little ones. It is all about how dinosaurs get ready for bed and my son just loves that they have pretty much the same routine as him. He wants to read it constantly and every night we read it together about 4 or 5 times until he looks thru and tries to recite it himself until he falls asleep. It is a cute book and perfect for little ones.

The next was a little collection of baby books. There were three books and they are Indestructibles by Ekaterina Trukhan. These books are pretty nice thin books that the littles love to chew on and look at. They include Baby, Find the Shapes!, Baby, Let’s Count!, and Baby, See the Colors! They are chew proof, rip proof, nontoxic and 100% washable. They are very bright and vividly colored and little ones just love them! My 3 year old loves them too and so far has not been able to tear, rip or otherwise be able to destroy them which is a huge plus! They have a wide assortment of these baby books and I definitely recommend them!

The last of the Workman Publishing Co. goodies we recieved was a 2020 Cats on Catnip based on the book by Andrew Marttila. It is so ridiculously cute it is crazy and we love it. Each month features a different cat high on life and they each have their own fun personalities that shine thru while they are enjoying cat nip. They are fun, funny and entertaining. It is a great way to bring in the new year and would make a great gift for those fellow cat lovers in your life!

Disclosure: I received these products for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
