This box set of nine flip books pays tribute to Walt Disney’s original animators–the Nine Old Men: Les Clark, Eric Larson, Frank Thomas, John Lounsbery, Ward Kimball, Ollie Johnston, Mark Davis, Wolfgang Reitherman, and Milt Kahl. Each flip book features an iconic scene from an animated Disney feature in its original line-drawn form, having been selected from among a wide range of films for great movement and classic characters. The films include Alice In Wonderland, Dumbo, Fantasia, Peter Pan, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, and Pinocchio. Such iconic clips from the reel of Disney animation history include: Lady and the Tramp’s moonlit spaghetti dinner; Sorcerer Mickey’s ordeal with a horde of mops; and Thumper’s announcement that a prince has been born! In addition to the flip books, the box will contain a booklet providing additional information about the artists.
I got this amazing book set through Disney. At first I thought there were pop up books, but they were flip books.. This is a book set to keep away from little fingers. I love this set. I mean it has Tinker Bell in it, and she is my favorite all time Disney character! I remember those little tiny flip books when you were kids. This is like that but with drawings of the characters. The box they came in is super durable and velvet like, and holds all of the books and plus one for the all about each book, book. Then all of the flip books are characters this artist Pete Docter drew. The drawings are all flat with no color and have all the sketch’s in them. The books are wonderful quality and after a few bending of the book to see the flip books they are not even bent or any signs of warping from it, now that is awesome! If you are a hardcore Disney fan then these are right up your alley. I mean it has the best 10 films include Alice In Wonderland, Dumbo, Fantasia, Peter Pan, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, and Pinocchio. Tinker which is my favorite she falls off the block. Then Fantasia the famous broom clip, and so on. This is a really fancy pancy set to own and these aren’t something to leave out of the box, its something to pull out to show people and put back up for display. This is like fanciest book set I have ever owned its 20 years and wow I love them..
