A Stork’s Journey

About them: Richard, a sparrow orphaned at birth and raised by storks who believes that he is a stork, too! But when winter comes and the storks prepare to migrate to Africa, his stork family must reveal his true identity and leave him behind in the forest with the other sparrows since he would not survive the long journey. Determined to prove he is a stork after all, Richard ventures south on an epic adventure, accompanied by friends big and small, to unleash his true potential and be reunited with his family.

My kids and I have our traditional family movie night every Friday night. We make a snack tray, pop some pop corn and all cozy up together on the couch after picking a good family film to watch together. When I had the opportunity to review A Stork’s Journey my kids were super excited. They have been wanting to see it for some time. It has a feature running time of 84 minutes and is rated PG. A sparrow named Richard was orphaned at birth and raised by a nice family of storks. When the winter season comes his family must migrate to Africa but they must leave him behind because he isn’t a stork and can not make the trip. That is when he finds out he is not really a stork. Although he now knows the truth about who he is, he is determined to prove he is part of the stork family and sets off on an adventure with his friends to be reunited with them. He faces challenges but throughout it all learns a lot about himself on this epic adventure! This movie is very much a family film and a great movie. The special feature Giving the Characters A Voice is pretty neat too! If you are looking for a great family movie for your collection then A Stork’s Journey may be the one for you!
