Room on the Broom

About them: This is the story of a kind witch who invites a surprising collection of animals to join her on her broom, must to the frustration of her cat. When the witch encounters a fearsome and hungry dragon, her animal friends come to her rescue. To show her gratitude, the witch rewards them with a magnificent new broom with room for everyone!

My kids love watching movies and when we had seen that Room on the Broom had come out on DVD we were excited to watch it. It is based on the children’s book that my kids just adore so we had some pretty high expectations of the movie. Room on the Broom has a feature run time of 30 minutes and is from the creators of The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child. The witch and her cat invite a variety of animals to join them on her broom. Her cat is a bit frustrated because there isn’t as much room as she seems to think their is. When the witch runs into a dragon, the critters all work together to come to the rescue, saving the day. The witch then rewards all the creatures with a larger broom that has room for all of them, which makes them all happy, including her cat. This is a super cute animated short film that my kids just love! It is fun and filled with adventure. It is also a great lesson for kids in sharing and being more welcoming to new friends. It is a great story about family and friends and a perfect short movie for the whole family! It came out on DVD on August 8th and I highly recommend it if you have a children’s movie collection! It is surely a must have if your kids are familiar with the book!
