Revolting Rhymes

About them: Produced by award-wining company Magic Light Pictures the animations are based on the extraordinary book written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake. Will Little Red Riding Hood become a meal for an unwelcome guest? Can Snow White escape the wrath of her evil stepmother? Will the wolf be able to blow the pig’s house down? How can Jack get past the Giant and find the golden treasure? Who will Cinderella marry? Narrator Wolf has all the answers, as well as a tale of his own to tell.

My kids had been asking for their own copy of Revolting Rhymes every time they saw it so they were thrilled to see I received one to review. Revolting Rhymes is based off the classic stories told by Roald Dahl. It has a feature running time of 60 minutes. Revolting Rhymes takes the classic fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella and adds completely unexpected twists throughout them. My kids just LOVE it! It is divided into two parts. Part one is about Snow White and Red Riding Hood becoming super good friends. Snow White takes on the wicked Queen and Red Riding Hood has to deal with hungry wolves. Part two starts with Jack and the Beanstalk being in love with his neighbor Cinderella. Cinderella doesn’t have her eye on him but instead this handsome Prince at the ball. Jack ends up having to deal with a beanstalk and Cinderella must decide who she wants to be her true love. It is a pretty awesome way to mix things up and my kids adore it. It also includes a behind the scenes documentary in the special features. It is a fun DVD and makes a great addition to any children’s movie collection.

Disclosure: I received this product for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
