I had the pleasure of receiving a Blu-Ray and Digital HD copy of Disney’s Queen of Katwe for review. It is rated PG and has a feature running time of 124 minutes. This movie is absolutely fantastic! It is about a teenage Ugandan girl who discovers she has a natural gift for the game of chess. She and her family are poor and live in less than ideal circumstances and this newfound talent changes both her and her family’s life for the better. This is an uplifting and inspirational film and a must have! It shows that no matter where you come from and what your circumstances are, you can always better yourself and your future. It captures real life dreams and motivation. The bonus features are great too. They include deleted scenes, audio commentary, Alicia Keys “Back to Life” Lyric video and so much more! My favorite of the special features was A Fork, A Spoon and A Knight which is about a boy that grows up to transform a Ugandan city into a renowned chess sanctuary, transforming the community and changing the lives of the young children in that area forever. Disney did amazing with this one and I highly recommend it. It comes out on Blu-Ray on January 31st!

Disclosure: I received this product for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
