The story began in December, 2002 when Timothy Kimber, then owner of an ecommerce business, happened upon some children test-driving a yet unknown ride-on vehicle. Fascinated that this car did not require batteries or pedals and was propelled by simply turning the steering wheel, Kimber located the seller of this unique toy. Within a month, PlaSmart was born with North American distribution and marketing rights secured for PlasmaCar. With an uncomplicated, honest vision and a philosophy to under-promise and over-deliver, PlaSmart expanded into more than sixty countries on five continents in a few years.
I have been looking for a good ride on toy for my kids for some time and haven’t had much luck with one that would work for all three of my kids. When I came across PlaSmart I was pretty eager to get their PlasmaCar for my kids. It looked perfect for them and I was right! I received a red PlasmaCar to review and include in our Holiday Gift Guide and my kids just love it! It is for ages 3 and up but even my son who is almost 2 loves to play on it with supervision. The weather has been really bad so they have been playing with it indoors. It is not recommended for hardwood but they have been riding it daily and it hasn’t scratched our floors or anything. I am not saying I recommend it but it is working for us. I did have to put it together but it was super easy to do and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It is sleek and has an aerodynamic shape so it glides with ease over any flat surface. My kids feel like they are flying when they hit that 6 mile per hour mark and it has been great for all the kids in our house, even our roomies daughter who weighs 120 pounds. It can hold weights up to 220 pounds on even surfaces and 120 pounds on uneven surfaces. I can even ride it! It is completely powered by your child or yourself, no batteries or chargers are required which is nice and you can ride it indoors or outdoors. Just get on and turn the wheel and it goes. It goes alone very slowly just by doing this or your kid can use their feet and get going super quick! This PlasmaCar is amazing and I highly recommend it! My kids love it and play with it every day!
