My kids and I received a DVD copy of Mia and Me: Season 1: Volume 1 for review. My kids have never seen Mia and Me before so it was all new for all of us. By the cover I assumed it was animated but it is actually a mixture of real life and animation which was pretty cool. It has a feature running time of 390 minutes that spans over a two disk set and has 13 stories total. These stories include Talking to Unicorns, Centopia’s Hope, Restoration, Trumptus Lost, The Golden Son, Onchao’s Oasis, Hope in Pieces, Ziggo’s Day Off, The Elves and the Dragon, The Blossom Tree, All That Glitters, Phuddle’s Foibles and The Fire Unicorn. Mia is new to a new boarding school and a bit of an outcast until she receives a special gift. She receives a magical book and bracelet that give her the power to transport to the magical world of Centopia. She arrives in time to help defeat the evil Queen Panthea, who tries to capture all the unicorns and use their capture to keep her young. Mia works with her new friends Yuko and Prince Mo to stop Queen Panthea, save the unicorns and restore peace to Centopia. My kids LOVED this show. I wasn’t sure they would sit through it after realizing part of it was real life but they really enjoyed it. The story is fun and they loved the magical world of Centopia and all it had to offer. It come out on DVD on April 18th and I highly recommend it for your little ones.
