Kids Fly Safe Review & Giveaway

About Them: CARES has been on the market for 5 years, but the idea was born nearly 12 years ago when my daughter Miriam visited me in Washington D.C. She stepped off the plane carrying her toddler, a 20 lb car seat, and a diaper bag….and she was 7 months pregnant. I was aghast at the scene and remember saying to my husband, “There has to be a better way!” That night I sketched what I thought a child restraint for airplanes should look like. It had to be lightweight, easy to carry and quick to install and remove from the airplane seat – all the things a car seat isn’t ! Most important, it had to keep the kids securely in place in turbulence and bumpy landings. CARES Child Aviation Restraint System is designed specifically for aviation use for children age 1 and older who weigh between 22 and 44 pounds. These youngsters are old enough to be in their own seats, but are too small for the seat belt alone to protect them and provide the safety they require during airplane travel. Their bodies cannot withstand the jolts that are common in routine air travel, much less emergency situations, and they flail forward or slide beneath the seat belt if they are not held securely in place.

Fly often or fly a few times are year and have your toddlers fly with you? This device is pretty awesome for any mom flying with kids who want them strapped in. Most planes don’t require it, but encourage it. When it comes to flying it can be very stressful with kids. I’ve done it my fair share with my special needs guy ( not in picture) he doesn’t understand it, or can grasp the idea so we tend to put him in one just to calm our nerves a bit when it comes to flying. We will be flying to LA in June to see my grandma before she passes and instead of renting one on the plane at $150 bucks, or chugging our own around the airport when can just slap this into the backpack because its tiny and sits in a little bag, now how cool is that right, one less thing to worry about when your flying. Especially since my husband has a huge fear of flying, and its been quite sometime with me, we normally just drive a car with our kids to Cali but not this time around here we come Disney Land! This device is easy to set up, just strap it on the straps, buckle them in and wala they are trapped in, oops mean they are well secured and kept free from the isles. It’s very easy to put on and take off, and to wash for a quick wipe down if it gets dirty they slap it into the bag provided!

Comment Below:

  • I am flying home to Texas soon with my 3 year old! I would love to use this! My husband is a Marine so we are constantly flying home or somewhere else. This is just an amazing product!

  • We’ll be moving to Germany soon. In the past, we have done the whole lap baby thing, because we thought that was the flying rule. We had no idea you could instal their carseats!! So, on our overseas flight, we’ll be using our daughter’s Britax and our son’s CARES, they are 1 1/2 and 4 1/2. We would love to have a CARES for our daughter, too 🙂

  • I will be traveling soon with my little one and would love to use this!!!!

  • Planning a trip to Disney world soon. Is this appropriate for a 6 year old? He’s at the small end of normal size.

  • We fly with all their stuff! 2 carseats, strollers, baby carrier, diaper bag, all of our carryons. It’s overwhelming…this little buckle sounds like it came from heaven! Thanks for the chance

  • My daughter sits in her own sit. I wanted the fly safe when I traveled last but couldn’t get it in enough time.
