In Ahmet Zappa’s first picture book for children, Because I’m Your Dad, a dad like no other promises to give his kid a childhood like no other. Whimsical monster characters bring the silly and sweet scenes to life and keep the book universal. The book’s ending, a moving tribute to the author’s father, guarantees intergenerational appeal: “Because I’m your dad, I will do all of these things for you and more…because that’s what my dad did for me.”
This book is very adorable on all levels. We have read this book numerous times since we got it. Great for dad’s teaching their lil ones about what dad’s do in life. All the pages are so colorful, very fast to read, or just use the pictures, very creative book. Great for a father’s day present for dad’s. Kids never will fully understand at a young age what a dad will be like, why they work, why they are gone, and why mom’s always the one’s at home at most cases. The author has made such a wonderful book and it always brightens up my toddlers life when my husband reads them this book when they are always wondering. I just love the colorful and creativity out of this book and how well done it is. It’s a hard back book, but does have a paper cover on it for keeping it damaged!
