I got this beast of a unit on Friday and couldn’t wait to crack it open and start using it. It does work better by a window, than by anything else. The number is more accurate for the humidity on your home. Ours I just set up by my working station desk. But moved it next to our AC unit which is also a dehumidifier as well. The two combined work great. Though love the easy option on this one than the AC unit. This has a drawer at the bottom you can pull out and dump when it is full, and has a window indicator letting you know when it needs to change, also the machine will beep at you as well. The top piece in the gray area is the filter piece collecting all the dust, allergens, and so on from the air as it sucks in the air, and then pushes out at the top which is pretty warm. While the front one is colder. You have speed options, changing the humid level you like which 30-90 is normal for your home, while our sits between 32-46 most the time. Also have the option to change the temp option (tells you how warm it is in that room) to Fahrenheit or Celsius, great learning tool. The unit is very heavy, and you don’t want to lay it on the side, or let it fall over in storage, as you will have to wait 3-6 hours for it to set. Other than that this Honeywell Dehumidifier beast is awesome, keeps mold, and mildew away, and keeps allergies out of the air, so my nose has been so open last few days its been amazing. It only took me like 5 minutes to set it up, and worked right away. I have yet needed to empty the drawer yet, but you can open it anytime and see how much it gathered while it was on. You can leave it running all day long, while your out, while your home. It is kinda loud, but not to bad, set the TV volume to 40 above and you’re fine. Really love this machine and we run it pretty much all day long.
