Hartz for Dogs

About them: Our story begins in 1926 when 26-year-old Max Stern decided to leave Germany for the promise of America. A childhood friend of Stern’s, had borrowed a modest sum and could only pay back the loan with 5,000 singing canaries. Stern accepted the canaries and decided to sell them in New York City. He soon thereafter established his business and went back to his native Germany again and again, returning to America each time with more singing canaries that he now sold to a growing customer base. By 1932, Stern was the largest livestock importer in America and decided to expand into packaged bird foods. Hartz pet products was born.

Finding good quality dog toys that can withstand my corgis rough play can be not only challenging, but also quite frustrating. Most toys just don’t hold up to my corgis, especially my youngest as she plays rough! When I had the opportunity to try out some toys from Hartz for my dogs I was pretty excited. I have never used any Hartz Dog Toys before so I was eager to see how they would hold up. The first two toys my dogs got to try out were the Tuff Stuff Flyer and Tuff Stuff Nose Divers. These are both super strong and have held up really well. The Nose Diver toy has rope that goes through the entire toy. It resembles a duck and has really nice hard nylon. My youngest corgi Stella has chewed and chewed and thrashed it around with no issues at all. She loves when I hold the rope and throw it for her and she also loves playing tug o war with my male corgi Charlie. The Tuff Stuff Flyer is also a fun one and made to last! It is made with super durable nylon. It flies through the air and is great for tugging on. The dogs all go crazy for it! The next toy was the Quakers Duck toy and this one isn’t quite as durable and didn’t last nearly as long with my dogs but they absolutely loved it while they played with it! It is super soft and is supposed to quack. It made a squeak sound but I never heard it quack. It quickly became a favorite among my dogs. The Dura Play toys are next. These ones irritated me lol but my dogs loved them. They have that obnoxious dog squeaker in them that they go nuts for! They are also bacon scented which also drove my dogs wild. The first was a small Ball. They are soft and pliable but pretty durable. My youngest corgi just sits for hours on end doing nothing but squeaking it with her mouth or paw. She loves it. The Tug of Fun Dumbell was preferred by my older two corgis. They loved the squeak but they also loved to play tug o war with each other. You can toss and throw this one and they love it. It has a rope that runs through it and out on either end and a squeaky soft middle with great textures on it. This one has been great for my teething pup too. The last product for my dogs from Hartz was the Medium Chew’n Clean Dental Duo. It is a durable chew toy with an edible center. The center is bacon flavor and this was a great toy and treat for my puppy. She spent hours on it and it helped her teething and cleaned her teeth. It kept her entertained for hours and she was begging for more! This was a great treat and I will definitely be buying more for all three of my corgis. The toys were all a hit as well and I would definitely buy them again! If you have a dog that needs some new toys I think Hartz toys would be perfect!
