Hartz for Cats

About them: Our story begins in 1926 when 26-year-old Max Stern decided to leave Germany for the promise of America. A childhood friend of Stern’s, had borrowed a modest sum and could only pay back the loan with 5,000 singing canaries. Stern accepted the canaries and decided to sell them in New York City. He soon thereafter established his business and went back to his native Germany again and again, returning to America each time with more singing canaries that he now sold to a growing customer base. By 1932, Stern was the largest livestock importer in America and decided to expand into packaged bird foods. Hartz pet products was born.

I have five indoor cats and one semi feral outdoor cat I care for. Three of these cats are a year or less and very frisky so I am always looking for new toys that are fun, entertaining and can hold up to the wear and tear put on them. I received several Hartz Cat products for review and among them were several toys and my cats loved them all! They included a Chirping Bird toy that has a chirping sound and feathers on the tail that even my old cat went nuts for. Two of them were Roll About Mouse toys. They are ball toys with a mouse head and hanging stuff on the bottom. They are also catnip filled. The cats enjoy tossing, licking, and biting them. The Gone Fishin’ Toy is one of the favorites among the kittens. It has a cute fish attached to a line on a little pole. You can wave it around for interactive play with your cats or use the suction base to attach it to a flat surface. My cats love this and play with it all day long. Mouse toys have always been favorites among my cats so they all were excited to get some new Mini Mice toys. These are furry little mice filled with catnip. They pack them around in their mouths, flip and toss them for hours on end. These came in a five pack. My kids love running around the house with the Twirl and Whirl toy. It is catnip filled and a fun mouse toy attached to a line on a poll. The top of the pole has feathers as well as bells and the kids and cats have a blast with this one. The last pack of toys had a bit of something for all the cats which was nice. It was the Super Colossal Toy Variety Pack and had a total of 13 toys inside! It had 6 balls, 3 pom poms, 2 catnip filled mice, 1 catnip filled fish toy, and 1 wand toy. My cats love all these toys and they have held up to their rough play which is what I look for when looking for toys! We also received some of the Delectables Lickable Treats. Now I am very picky when it comes to giving my cats moist food or treats so I was a bit hesitant to try these out. My oldest two have very sensitive stomachs and are very picky anyways so I generally just don’t bother. I didn’t even have the opportunity to slowly introduce these because my cats chewed right through the bags! They didn’t get a hold of all of them but they loved the ones they did. We received three Bisque with Tuna and Veggies, three Bisque Kitten with Tuna, three Stew with Chicken and Veggies and two Chowder with Tuna and Veggies. These all came in 1.4 oz packs that you just tear to open which is nice (or your cat can just chew through lol). They are thinner than your typical moist food but make for a great little treat or topping to the dry cat food. My cats loved it and only my oldest got an upset stomach but that is typical for her. All of the cats loved them and I would definitely get them as a treat for them again! These cat Hartz products are great and I definitely recommend them for your feline companions!

Disclosure: I received these products for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
