Graco sent us the My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat with Safety Surround Protection. Its safety awareness month, which was actually handy because my other car seat just got recalled so it all happened right in time which was great. He is on the second to top latch, so he will have some time to grow into it. He is 6 years old, but a very skinny mini, he is tall in the legs, but has a short upper body because of the open heart surgery.

The car seat is like many I have had and used to, you need to unhook the straps from the clip on the bottom and thread through the holes. I am used to this method, so it doesn’t really bother me, we usually go a long ways until he needs his straps adjusted anyways. The straps are long, strong, and durable. The clip works great and is hard for one to try to un clip it, which he have been there with a past one. However it does need to broken into, it’s kinda stubborn unbuckling when you take the kid out. After about ten times, it got better or I got used to it. It does have shoulder pads on it, which is great for him when he falls asleep in the car seat. Of course I was playing with it, testing it out, while I was waiting for him to come home. The head rest and bottom piece is for the smaller babies.

This car seat grows with your child which is great from newborn to toddler which saves on the bucks which is nice. The cup holders built-in on top is handy. The car seat is pretty big so when placing a toddler into it, you are close to the top of the door, so sliding them into it, is the best bet for sure. It is rear and forward facing as well. The gray pieces on the bottom of the car seat that help between switching the two. The clip straps that lock into the seats and the back of the seat are simple and easy, of course my car shows the bars easy which is nice. It’s easy to get in and out of the car, but it is pretty big and heavy. I do like how it leans back, VS sitting up straight so the kids are more comfortable in it, and sleeping in it, is better on the head from bopping around! This car seat of course is soft and very comfortable, it also looks very relaxing, our toddler seems to like it, and hasn’t fought it, except the one time I put him in it, when he got home.
