Coco

About them: In Disney•Pixar’s “Coco,” Pixar Animation Studios’ 19th feature film, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz—despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Héctor, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

I had been dying to see Disney Pixar’s Coco and was absolutely ecstatic when I received a Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital copy to review. It is PG rated and has a feature running time of 105 minutes. I love Disney Pixar and pretty much everything they create but I was extremely impressed with this movie! My kids and I have already watched it a dozen times or more and enjoy it thoroughly each and every time. Miguel is a young boy who dreams of becoming a famous musician. He idolizes Ernesto de la Cruz, a very accomplished musician that everyone loves, except Miguel’s family who hates music. When he steals Ernesto de la Cruz guitar from his memorial site he is tossed into the land of the dead where he must get his families blessing to return to the land of the living before he himself becomes a permanent resident of the land of the dead. He meets a nice man named Hector who needs to have his picture put back up in the land of the living so he is not forgotten and together they set off to achieve their desires. There are twists and loopholes they both must go though but in the end both realize how important family is and what the true meaning of their very existence means. Miguel learns more about his families history than he even thought possible. It is an excellent movie and I highly recommend it! It comes with over 2 hours of bonus features that include commentary, deleted scenes, the music of coco and more. It is a must have! Coco came out everywhere on February 27th and I highly recommend adding it to your family movie collection!
