I absolutely love J. R. R. Tolkien’s books so I was extremely excited to receive this copy of The Battles of Tolkien book by David Day. It is an unofficial book but loaded with awesome maps, colored illustrations and so much info that make it an absolutely amazing addition to any fan of the Middle Earths collection! It goes through all the battles and efforts associated with the Ring, the tactics involved and so much more! I love the in depth description of all the weapons and how they influenced the outcome of each and every battle. It also goes over how these battles and such are linked to real mythology and how Tolkien based them on it. I love the illustrations and maps. It helps bring it all together and really gives you a good in depth reference for Tolkien fans. The inside of the book is amazing and the outside just brings me pure joy. It feels soft like leather and has the images and inscriptions engraved into it. It just looks and feels amazing. My dad is even a bigger J. R. R. Tolkien fan than me so I am giving him a copy of The Battles of Tolkien this Father’s Day! This is a great gift for J. R. R. Tolkien fans and a perfect gift for dad this Father’s Day!
