Aliens Ate My Homework

About them: Aliens Ate My Homework is a suspenseful family comedy which follows the adventures of sixth-grader Rod Allbright and the extraterrestrial lawmen known as the Galactic Patrol. When a tiny spaceship flies through his window and lands on his science project, Rod and his cousin Elspeth meet a group of friendly aliens, including Phil, a talking plant. The earthlings quickly join the aliens’ adventurous mission to help defeat an evil alien criminal. After discovering the evil alien is disguised as a human – someone he knows all too well – Rod and Elspeth race to save the world from total planetary disaster.

When I heard about Aliens Ate My Homework coming out on DVD I was so excited! I had read all the Rod Allbright and the Galactic Patrol books which were about middle school friends having to race to save the world from destruction after aliens invade Earth. I knew this film was an adaptation of the first book so I could not wait to see it! I was super stoked when I received the Aliens Ate My Homework kit that inclued a DVD and Digital copy of Aliens Ate My Homework and could not wait to watch it with my kids and room mate. Aliens Ate My Homework is rated PG and has a feature run time of 90 minutes. This movie is hilarious and had us all laughing from start to finish. It begins when a little spaceship flies through Rod’s window and lands on one of his school projects. Both him and his cousin Elspeth end up meeting a group of nice friendly aliens and join them to help stop an alien criminal that is trying to destroy the world. Phil is a hilarious talking plant who is voiced by William Shatner and is one of my personal favorite characters. The middle school cousins set off in an action adventure filled quest that is hilarious and entertaining for all who watch this movie and I highly recommend it! My kids, room mate and I all loved it from start to finish. The Bonus Features include Not of This World: Creating Alien Life Forms, Aliens Ate My Homework: From Page to Screen, On the Set with Bruce Coville and The Galactic Patrol Wants You! The rest of the Aliens Ate My Homework kit included the Film Soundtrack, a Solar System Kit, the Aliens Ate My Homework book by Bruce Coville and a Homework Folder with fun activity sheets. My girls have been having me read the book to them every night before bed and they just love it and the Solar System Kit was perfect because my oldest is learning all about the Solar System right now in school. It was fun to put together as a family and is extremely educational. This movie is a must have for any movie collection and I highly recommend it! It comes out today so go get your copy!
