Blogger new or not, googling leads can be so hard at times, we know surfing through blogs for leads, or asking your blogging friends can get tiring or annoying. We all been there, and find those direct leads into the company can be extremely hard. So below will be awesome tips how to find leads, Googling & much more.
Blogging Rules
So first off, stop surfing your blogging friends blogs for leads and start googling, there are many great tools found on Google. Go to google and search a company or product to find your company simple right it is, get better results by using the Search Tools button and use the nifty any time, or all results drop downs. Search your needs than go to these options for better results. This will cut down a huge amount of crap you don’t need for finding the pin point to a company or product! This also helps you find brand new companies that just hit google that need bloggers. just hit a main subject like household, makeup, nail polish, books, and so on hit search tools, click the any time drop down pick with last year or month.
Hit Search Tools
Another great tool is the - option. My husband taught me this nice feature for cutting down the crap you want to ignore, I know I hate seeing links I am done with looking at. You can use the minus (-) effect as many times as you like!
before minus
So this is before the minus and the second will be after the minus, remember you can do the minus many times you like! See the Birchbox link? Look for it below….
With Minus
Now with the minus, you can see it pulled Birchbox out and you see it replaced with a new link. You can use minus to take away any link (company name, product or item) you may wish not to see.
Next this is a fun one, but you need lots of free time, and digging deep into Google. Usually it will throw you into paths, new tabs and ideas. I usually do this after kids go to sleep spend lots of hours bookmarking or copying emails for later contacting Monday night.
Searching W/ Press Release
These 2 are tough ones, ones you will spend hours on. Usually we all go for the company name WRONG. I mean you can but sends you in dead ends and long email reply back or any at all. YOU want the direct leads not the company, PR release sites.. The first 1, 3rd one, or 4th one you want (pr web, prlog, and 24-7) usually are the winners. In those links you will find 1-4 or more emails direct link into the PR Agency or Companies media email. Email all the emails listed!!!
Searching W/ Media Contact
Just like above you want press release sites or you will get like the first link buy buy baby with the media contact shown in small details or click link if it says media contact in bold or Media Relations. WINNER. These are your way in to the big leagues. Now if your new or older blogger this should never stop you from contacting. Also if you never hear word recontact them in 2 weeks. Remember these get bombarded with pitches so they may skip you, not get to you, or goes to spam folder.
Next fun one not so fun one that takes time but gets you so many yes’s if you have a great not so long pitch letter.. Ever heard of Press Release sites? Well these will be your best friend and go to them before going to google. These are great for the holiday gift guide, or anything really or throwing a special kind of giveaway!! There is hundreds of press release sites although there is only a handful that display emails.
Business Wire This one is great lots and lots of links, search bar, search by topic, explore it, click links go to the bottom and find emails
PR News Wire My favorite sign up as a journalist and get even better emails by clicking link, also (photo url link) for emails. Search comes in handy too. Scroll down on the link check out the categories.
There is a few more, but they don’t display emails more so of companies. The two listed sign up as a journalist and get special benefits. Emails when press releases are put up, or get better leads. If you review you’re considered a journalist, just follow steps. Once a few months pass, and you pitch or put in query’s you will be pitching less and they will pitch you!
Also with any bigger companies or huge name brand companies always have a news, press, or anything of that source at bottom of websites for press release links.Or media contact email which 75% never works. Because everyone goes to that email before really looking. Finding emails are not easy, and if you choose the easy way out, you will never get in. I mean sometimes you may get lucky, but rarely. Fun links: Disney, MNR, Toy Fair, Leap Frog, Pet Expo, Unilever anyways these are all great leads.
Anyways this is great ways to find direct emails, great leads and lots of yes’s with a great pitch letter. re email in two weeks if no response. Big or small stats, never hurts to try and most really don’t care if its less than $300 bucks product. Always ask for giveaway items too, great way to up your followers!!

How do you use the search engine do you type the thing your searching for then click search tools or click search tools first then type what your looking for? I never knew you could do this!! Thank so much for the advice!!!
You can do before or after, however I do after because you’re better at seeing what you need more with searching.
