Zollipops

About them: When Alina Morse was 7 years old, she went to the bank with her dad and the teller offered her a lollipop. While she really wanted to accept, her parents always told her that candy was terrible for her teeth. So she asked her dad, “Why can’t we make a lollipop that’s actually good for your teeth?” And in that moment the idea for Zollipops® was born! Together, Alina and her dad set off to make delicious lollipop treats that were actually good for teeth and in 2014, the first Zollipops treat hit the shelves. Zollipops, Zolli Drops, and Zaffi Taffy were invented by 12-year-old Alina Morse and are made in the U.S., by LOL, in Walled Lake, Mich. Zolli Candy is available at Walmart, Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Whole Foods Market, Toys”R”Us, Dylan’s Candy Bar, United Supermarkets (Albertsons), HyVee, Ross, and online at Amazon & Jet.com.

As I get older (shh don’t tell anyone) I feel like I get a little wiser too. And along with that comes making wiser decisions for the health of my family. One of those things is making better choices when it comes to snacks and candy. And during that quest I came across Zollipops. Zollipops are a natural, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and non-GMO lollipop, containing xylitol and erythritol (healthy sugar alternatives), and certified sugar-free by Sugarwise. That all may sound like gibberish to you, but to anyone that knows about sugars will know it’s a good thing. It basically means they have sugars that are natural and healthy for you vs. sugars that cause tooth decay. The nice people over at Zollipops wanted my family to be able to try out the products in their line so they sent over a really nice assortment for us to check out. Being the good mom that I am I was the first to “test out” the Zollipops myself. I was actually quite surprised that they tasted pretty much the same as a regular lollipop. I was honestly expecting them to have an off taste due to their ingredients. So when they didn’t I was pretty excited. I had my daughter try one when she got home from school and she said the same thing. We both liked them a lot! So we decided if those were good we needed to try out the other products in their line too and see how they rated.

Ooh la la - that’s how my mouth felt when I popped a piece of Zaffi Taffy in my mouth. Oh man is that stuff good. I probably could have eaten the entire bag all by myself. The sweet mixed with the fruity flavor was a really good combination. Definitely a big win in my book. The fruit flavored Zolli Drops were just like the lollipops (but without the stick). And the peppermint ones reminded me of a good breath mint. I don’t know if they did anything for my breath, but they sure were refreshing to suck on while the lasted.

The other great thing about the Zollipops brand is that they commit 10% of profits to support an increase in oral health education in schools and help fight tooth decay. To me that says something about a brand when they help give to what they themselves are striving to achieve. Zollipops can be purchased at many retailers including Amazon.

The products in this post were received complimentary to share my honest and unbiased opinions, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I used personally, and believe would be a good fit for consumers.
