Treemote

About them: It all started one fateful evening, in the Victoria home of Martin and Shelby Schenk. Martin overheard and then saw Shelby battle it out, again, with their Christmas tree trying to plug in the lights. “There must be a better way,” thought Martin. “Some sort of remote to control your Christmas tree lights is what’s needed – a TREEMOTE! From the first prototype – an iPhone-sized wooden Christmas tree – to a much smaller, sleeker version, TREEMOTE made its debut just in time for the 2014 Christmas season. Since then, TREEMOTE’s reach and popularity have expanded across Canada and this year into the United States.

I have to say I was pretty excited when I received a Treemote to review and include in our Holiday Gift Guide. I know I for one, am sick of getting all scratched up, knocking ornaments off the tree and in some cases, knocking the tree over completely while trying to plug and unplug the lights from the wall during the holiday season. The struggle is real. The hassle is real. The idea of the Treemote seemed quite simple. You just plug the receiver into the wall outlet then attach your lights as usual. Then you use the remote to control the lights from up to 80 feet away. Seemed simple enough and it was! I have not yet plugged my Christmas lights into it yet since my tree is not set up yet, but I have used it for lamps, appliances and more and it works like a charm! The remote is super simple with having an on and off switch. It is awesome! I absolutely love it! I have a lamp in my room that doesn’t have a on and off switch so I am always having to get down on my knees and reach below my headboard to plug and unplug it. This has changed that and I no longer have to even get up from my bed at night! I honestly can not wait till Christmas and this will make life so much easier! I am planning on buying at least one more, if not two, so I can keep one in with my holiday decorations and lights and use the others throughout the year! It retails for just under $20 and it is well worth it! This Treemote is an awesome gadget for all year long and I definitely think it is a great way to save your sanity this holiday season!

Disclosure: I received this product for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
