Stubb’s BBQ

About them: After his tours of duty in Korea, Stubb moved to Lubbock, Texas where, in 1968, he christened Stubb’s Legendary Bar-B-Q. The restaurant was located in a ramshackle white stucco building that was long in character but could only fit 75 patrons. Today, Stubb’s heritage lives on in his legendary sauces, marinades and rubs, continuing to make people feel good all over the world. Though he started with only one sauce, Stubb’s full line now contains 7 sauces, 5 marinades, 2 injectable marinades, 5 rubs, 4 cookin’ sauces, a moppin’ sauce and a wing sauce, all of which bring Legendary Texas Flavor to any meal.

During the Summer months my family lives on BBQ food. There is nothing quite better that spending quality time outdoors in the warm weather with your family with a big plate of home grilled BBQ foods! I am always on the look out for delicious new recipes and new sauces and rubs to use when I BBQ so I was pretty excited to receive a couple Stubb’s Bar-b-q Sauces for review. I also received a couple coupons for free goods so ended up getting a couple bottles of Marinade to try out as well! The Bar-b-q Sauces both came in 18 oz jars. I received one Sticky Sweet and one Original and could not have been happier with the taste of them! The Sticky Sweet one was my kids favorite. It was thick and rich in flavors. It is super sweet because it is made with brown sugar and molasses. Super yummy! The Original was my favorite and was absolutely fantastic. These are both kosher, gluten-free, and don’t have any high fructose corn syrup. They are both perfect for those summer BBQs. The Marinades were just as delicious and came in 12 oz bottles. The Beef Marinade was made with soy, garlic and red pepper. The Chicken Marinade was made with Citrus and Onion. The recommended time for marinating is an hour but the longer you do it the more flavorful your food will be. I marinaded our Chicken for 3 hours then basted them with the Chicken Marinade as they were cooking and the flavor was amazing. The Chicken was flavorful, moist and tender. The Beef Marinade was just as delicious and I added it to a roast I did in the crock pot. My kids loved all of them and that made me happy. These are all delicious products and we are definitely Stubb’s lovers now! If you are looking to add some savory flavor to your food this Summer then these are perfect for you! They are great for grilling food on the BBQ, cooking it in the crock pot and more! I have added a Stubb’s Recipe Below.

Stubb’s BBQ Brisket

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 8 hours

Ingredients

6 pound beef brisket, untrimmed

1 bottle Stubb’s® Bar-B-Q Rub

Soaked wood chips (for smoke flavor if using charcoal)

Instructions

Rub entire brisket with Bar-B-Q Rub. Let it rest for a minimum of 30 minutes. This allows the rub to penetrate the meat.

While the brisket is resting, prepare your smoker for indirect low heat (225°F to 250°F) cooking. If using charcoal, layer the soaked wood chips with the charcoal. Place foil pan under grates of grill or smoker to catch drippings.

Cook the brisket, fat side up, over indirect heat until internal temperature on thickest part of the brisket reaches 180° to 185°F. This usually takes 8 to 10 hours depending on your pit. To maintain low heat, check every hour to adjust vents and add more charcoal and soaked wood chips as needed. Remove brisket and let it rest 15 to 45 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Makes 16 servings.
