This awesome grill can only be used on GAS stove tops. This will not work on electric ones as it has a negative effect. My husband the awesome cook he is. Opened this grill up as soon as we got it, and made some very awesome yummy steaks. They took less time as they would on his BBQ outside, and only took about thirty minutes total and we were eating up some very yummy steaks. The flavor and taste is much different then on a BBQ grill itself, I actually enjoyed the gas more then the coals. With the awesome layers of pans, gives you the option to create many wonderful dishes from the tip of your hands inside the house! We live in such a rainy state we hardly get sun time which makes for outdoor BBQing much harder. We hardly have cover space from the rain let alone freezing our pants off.
