The Anno 1366 on the Stella Artois logo refers to the origin of brewing in the city of Leuven. The city’s tax records dated 1366 mention the existence of a local brewpub called Den Hoorn, (‘Hoorn’ in Dutch meaning ‘Horn’ in English, as is represented in the logo on the beer label). The name Artois was coupled to the brewery in 1708, when new owner Sebastian Artois achieved the title of master brewer. The frame that surrounds the name Stella Artois on the label refers to the traditional style of window frame found in Flemish architecture.
These Stella Artois Glass’s are my favorite, back in early 2012 they had a offer up for this glass engraved, and got one made, they are such wonderful quality for sure. They are amazing glass’s. The gold rim is my favorite part of all. When you drink or eat certain things on gold, the taste is a whole new experience and once you’ve done it, you never want to go back. These glass’s are great with everything known to man, and is a must have glass, I brought mine to a Christmas party and everyone loved it. I of course gave it away, I already have one. I have put mine on top and lower dishwasher rack, and on hot. This is one heck of a durable glass, and long lasting, I don’t how long I have had my engraved one, probably a year now, and it still looks like new, and engraved untouched. The Gold rim is still there with just a few scratches in it. Pretty sure you can just request these glasses all the time with filling out a form and mailing it in, because of some state laws. But its a must glass for that special someone or if you love beer!
