About them: Spin Master was founded in 1994 by two childhood friends, Ronnen Harary and Anton Rabie, soon after graduation from The University of Western Ontario. Ben Varadi, a classmate of Anton’s from The University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of business, joined the Company subsequently in 1994. When Spin Master began to chart it’s course in the children’s entertainment industry, the founders recognized that in order to compete successfully with the established brands of larger companies, they had to design and market innovative products that would “wow” consumers and disrupt the traditional toy market.
With Christmas right around the corner I have been on the hunt for toys for my kids for the big day! Of course one of the first places I look is online at Spin Master. They have such a vast selection of toys sold in so many places. I ended up getting a Zoomer Show Pony, a Cool Maker Airbrush Styling Studio and the Meccano M.A.X. Engineering & Robotics toy for review and to include in our Holiday Gift Guide. These were on my kids list of toys they wanted from Santa this year. I surprised them and gave them to their birthdays because I knew I couldn’t wait to see their reactions. My daughter Krista got the Zoomer Show Pony and absolutely flipped when she saw it! It is a pretty neat toy too. It takes four AA batteries that do not come with it and once you put them in the fun begins! It comes with the Zoomer Pony, a carrot, apple, sugar cube and brush as well as instructions. The ponies eyes show you what she wants or needs whether it be grooming, food, training or if she is tired and so on. She makes cute pony sounds and moves around. The treats make her interact with you in different ways and she even tells you when she is full. She learns tricks through play and repetition and my daughter just loves her! Its a great interactive toy for the holidays. My daughter Dakota got the Cool Maker Airbrush Styling Studio and adores it as well. It came with a huge variety of accessories that include a doll head to style, a cordless airbrush that runs on 2 AA batteries, five airbrush makeup stic,ks, two hair clips, a hair brush, two clip in hair extensions, several stencils, a sheet of eye color stickers, a sheet of makeup stencils, a sheet of jewels, a sheet of eye color stickers, four hair bands, a make up eraser, a look book and a play book with instructions. It comes with over 50 accessories total which is awesome. You can style her hair, color it with the airbrush and use the stencils to add creative designs too! My daughter has spent hours fixing her hair and makeup. It is awesome for kids who love to do hair and makeup and was definitely a great toy for my daughter. The Meccano M.A.X. is another awesome toy.This one is for older kids ages 10 and up and is absolutely awesome! M.A.X. is a robot that you build then bring to life. It uses an AI learning technology that literally makes him a smartbot. He learns about you, your surroundings and then interacts with you. The more you and your kids interact with him, the smarter he gets too which is awesome! To control him you can use the MeccaBrain or the free app. The app is easier for the kids in my opinion but you just have to determine if you want them using a smart device as well as the smartbot. You can build and design your robot, create his behaviors and animations and you can use M.A.X. to play games, listen to music, learn things like trivia and so much more! There is so much to do with M.A.X. that your kids are sure to be entertained for hours! I find him extremely entertaining and think the technology is phenomenal. These are are all three awesome toys and would make great gifts this holiday season!
