About them: Twins Shimmer and Shine are genies-in-training who grant wishes for their best friend, Leah. The wishes don’t always go as smoothly as they plan, though — after all, they’re still in training — and the girls must clean up the magical mess that results from the issues. When Shimmer, Shine and Leah work together they are able to solve the problems that arise and make things right. Trying to correct their mistakes helps to teach young viewers about learning from mistakes and doing better next time.
My girls are absolutely in love with Nickelodeons show Shimmer and Shine and have been extremely upset with me since we got rid of our cable and they have not been able to watch it regularly. They were pretty stoked to get a DVD copy of Shimmer and Shine: Magical Pets of Zahramay Falls to watch and review. It has a feature running time of 94 minutes and includes 8 episodes. These episodes include Untamed Talent, Pet Bedroom, Zany Ziffilon, Now You See Her, Dragon Pox, Bungle in The Jungle, Potion Control and Boom Zahra-Mom. I am not really a fan of most of the cartoons on tv these days but I do really enjoy Shimmer and Shine. It is cute and teaches kids how to learn from their mistakes which I really appreciate as a mom of three. This whole DVD is all about the Magical Pets and my kids just love it. The Pets do a talent show and there are so many fun action packed episodes. My kids must have watched this DVD 8 times already in the short time they have had it. It is perfect for my preschooler and gradeschooler and keep them entertained. My girls really love Shimmer and Shine and they especially love this Shimmer and Shine: Magical Pets of Zahramay Falls DVD. I definitely recommend it!
