Our yellow border serves as a portal to explore the farthest reaches of the Earth and beyond. Places only National Geographic can take you.

One of my absolute favorite times of year is Shark Week! My kids and I look forward to it every single year and just love adding to our Shark collection! We were thrilled when we were sent some really awesome books from National Geographic Kids to read, review and to help celebrate Shark Week this year! We were thrilled with the book selection they sent us because there was a bit of something for everyone! The first of these books was So Cool! Sharks. This is a fully illustrated 31 page hardcover book. It has cool facts, pictures and identifies several shark species. The next book was Little Kids First Big Book of the Ocean by Catherine D. Hughes. This one was perfect for my younger kids because it was an easy read but filled with fun facts about different oceans and the sea life in each. It is filled with beautiful pictures that just bring the sea to life! It was a larger hardcover book with 128 pages in all. The next book was Sharks by Anne Schreiber. This one is a level 2 paperback book with 31 pages. It is also an easy to read book for level 2 readers that is filled with shark facts and really neat pictures. My 7 year old has read this book many times to her younger siblings. The next book was Extreme Ocean by Sylvia A. Earle. This is another good sized paperback book with 111 pages. This book has loads of facts about ocean animals but it also includes information about gear used in the ocean, how plastic affects the sea, record-breaking depths and so much more! It is really loaded with information that all kids should know about our oceans and how what we do affects them and the life in them. The last book in this assortment is The Ultimate Book of Sharks by Brian Skerry. This is a hardback book with 191 pages and my 9 year olds favorite of the bunch. This one is loaded with information about each shark and amazing pictures of them. My daughter has read thru this book many times and is still in love with it. Almost daily she is coming out and telling me more facts she has learned. These are all great books that are beautifully put together with so many fun facts about these great predators of the sea! They are a perfect way to allow your children to learn more about sharks this Shark Week and for days, months and years to come! I highly recommend these National Geographic Kids books and can not speak highly enough about them!
