My kids and I received a couple bags of Royal Rice for review. We received a 8 oz bag of Royal Basmati Rice from India and an 8 oz bag of Royal Jasmine Rice from Thailand. This Authentic Basmati Rices come from the foothills of the Himalayas. After harvested they are aged for 12 months, making it fluffy long-grain rice that is rich in aroma and flavor. I am not a huge white rice fan at all, but my kids love it so I thought we would give this rice a try. I generally think white rice is bland but I was pleasantly surprised at the great flavor these had. I really liked how light and fluffy it was instead of sticky. I cooked mine on the stove top and it turned out great! We just rinsed it in the sink to remove extra starches, drained it and added a bit of butter and water to the pan with the rice and let it come to a boil. After the water reduced a bit I turned it down and simmered it for about 15 minutes. My kids inhaled it. These go great with any recipe and are good alone too. I thought they were really good and will continue to get it for my kids and myself. It is nice to have finally found a white rice I can stomach! If you are a rice lover or maybe just looking for a new rice to try I would say to definitely give Royal Basmati Rice a try!
