Cooked Steak fajita, but turned into a burritos version instead

So we got our’s to review and we were a bit scared at first. After hearing a story my dad told us about what my grandma did, mind this was in the 70’s when I am sure pressure cookers then are not like they are now a days! She was canning in it, didn’t put the lid on properly, when it then exploded all over her kitchen. With her having 9 kids and the amount of stress she had, I am quite sure she prob just didn’t tighten it all the way!

So we got our’s to review and we put steak, onions, red peppers, cup and half of water and seasonings, then mixed it all together. We but it on the stove on high, and sat there tell it started to steam and hiss out of the pressure release on the handle. Then when it reached its amount of pressure, it shut that one-off, and we turned it down, time to time, tell we heard the middle piece on top start to release more steam. Eventually it started to move, if you let it move to much then the heat is to high and turn it down. Once you see it get less and less its pretty much done.. There are 2 ways to release the pressure, slow or fast. So we took a separated spoon to the top knob and lifted it until it was all gone in steam and then opened the lid up and bam our food was cooked. It did make the red peppers and onions more of a soggy effect as shown above. We cooked it for 20 minutes, instead of 35 mins over a pan.

So with it turning it into a stew like then crunchy, we added beans and cheese and made burritos’ all in all I love this thing. We watched and sat the whole time, of course we put the kids out of kitchen and we sat and watched it.. You can cook all kinds of stuff in it besides canning.. Beans, Rice, Stew, Pulled Pork, Eggs, just experiment and have fun. It cooks food 70% faster than over a stove. They work on gas and electric and there isn’t any plug at all.

Comment Below:

  • I have a very old pressure cooker that was my mothers and I’m afraid to use it. I can see the difference with the new ones now. Thanks for introducing me to the IMUSA pressure cooker.

  • WOW ~ I’m impressed by the IMUSA pressure cooker. I don’t have one because I was always afraid one would pop its lid! The thought of minimizing cook time excites me. When you live in S. Florida you don’t want to have to heat up the kitchen by using the stove a lot! Thanks for the opportunity to win this “cool” pressure cooker!

  • Pressure cookers scare me but I’m willing to take up the challenge and give them a try!

  • Thanks for the chance to win! I have never used a pressure cooker, but have seen a lot about them recently! I give my slow cooker quite the workout, and would love to add a pressure cooker to my kitchen! Thanks!!

  • Great giveaway! I’m looking to replace my old pressure cooker anyways. Hopefully this isn’t limited to the US only.

  • Thanks for ANOTHER GREAT give away.. I have always wanted a pressure cooker too!

  • Let me start off saying I hate being the first one to comment or the first to enter a giveaway, LOL. But I soooo NEED this! I have to cook for 7 kids, my husband, and my disabled father. This bunch eats beyond belief, my pressure cooker lid stopped sealing properly and I have yet to get it replaced. My crock pots are beginning to wear down because they are making up for the pressure cooker.

Thank you for offering this giveaway! I am going to have to try the recipe out on the family! Looks like beef strips, red peppers, onions(?) and ??

  • I’ve always wanted a pressure cooker for canning, but I never knew you could cook regular non canning meals in it too. how cool!
