[Review] Dot Girl Products: My First Period Kit

Our goal at Dot Girl Products is that every girl has a positive first period experience and an empowered first step to womanhood. We are two sisters, Terri Goodwin and Kathy Pickus, who founded Dot Girl Products in December of 2006. We bring our experience as daughters and mothers to help you honestly address an uncomfortable topic. Our motivation to create The Dot Girl’s First Period Kit grew from our own awkward teenage experiences. Despite the fact that our mother was a wonderful nurturer to four daughters, she was never comfortable talking to us about our bodies. We found that this is more often the rule than the exception for both moms and dads. And the reality today is that parents often find themselves in the awkward position of having avoided the subject at all costs, to the detriment of their daughters. Our goal for the kit is to provide parents with the information and supplies you need to explain the basics of menstruation to your daughters. And for the girls, we hope that having the kit will lessen their anxiety about their first period and instead turn it into a positive experience. ! Find them on Twitter!

Dot Girl Products: My First Period

This is such a great idea for those girls first starting their periods. It is not a easy or fun thing to go through. Specially when it comes to explaining to them why it comes and all the wonderful questions they have about it. I wish I had one when I was 11 and got mine. My parents never helped me or told me what to expect. I learned from my aunts and cousins. This kit is just to adorable I think. Plus they can take it to school and show to their friends how neat this kit is. I really love the heating pad, wow that is such a good idea! Who new something like that would work. Plus its small enough to slip in the top part of undies or on pants or Pj pants line. I new alot of people who had cramping issues alot. I however had lil to none. But now since I got fixed my cramping is outrageously painful at the start. This is small enough to carry anywhere and very discrete for running to the potty to change.  Its even re usable after the products it comes with, run out.  Replace it with more and use all the time. Or even use for makeup or whatever else. The book that comes with has 20 questions and had information in it, I never knew about. So not only is it useful for teens, even for moms too. So stop by them and grab a kit and save it or give it to them to have when that moment happens!
