My daughter Dakota is in preschool and learning basic handwriting skills in her class. They have the bigger pencils at school for her to use but we didn’t have any for practicing at home. I was pretty excited to see Paper Mate Handwriting Mechanical Pencils designed especially for kids and was pretty stoked when I received a pack for review. They came with 5 Mechanical Pencils in the pack, 2 Eraser Refills and 12 Lead Refills. They are #2 pencils which is required for her school work and each has 1.3mm lead. My daughter loves these because they are in the same triangular shape as the pencils at school only in much prettier colors! This shape helps guide little kids small fingers and gives them much more control than the small rounder pencils. The lead is thick so it doesn’t break when they push down on the pencil tip and my daughter loves that she doesn’t have to stop writing to sharpen her pencil. All she has to do is click it and more lead comes down so its ready to use without stopping. These have been great pencils for her homework and for when she wants to practice her writing skills. They have really helped to improve her handwriting skills and I definitely recommend them for younger kids who are just learning these much needed skills. Whether you are homeschooling your young child or just want a pencil at home for homework and such, these Mechanical Pencils by Paper Mate are just what you need!
