About Them: In 1980, OWI Incorporated, was looking for a way to expand its consumer product lines and bring its extensive technology background to the educational community. RobotiKits and OWIKits were developed to affordably introduce students to robotics, science, and solar technology.
OWI Robot sent one these very fun kits available on their line of toys. The kids and I set ours up, took us a while with all the who turn is it, to place another piece. We are still working on ours well to get to 14 we only done 3. We even created one outside the box, not one the ones shown on the box. We got creative, super fun easy to do. The best part being solar with the sun. We didn’t get enough sun to get ours moving good, it just rains way to much here to get any sun. On another note great family fun activity for the whole family, family night especially to. Some of the pieces are small so if you have a toddler who picks things up and eats it, keep close on on them! The solar powered robot can be transformed into 14 different robot modes which include a multitude of comical and functional movements. The user can easily change from a wagging-tail dog, running beetle, walking crab, surfer, speedster, zombie chaser… The robot kit provides unique accessories (included) and parts that make the robot move on land and water.
