About Them: Motor Oil Matters (MOM) is the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) new program for licensing motor oil distributors and oil change locations. MOM has one main goal: to make sure that consumers receive high-quality oil. This is accomplished by maintaining a secure chain-of-custody for motor oil from the marketer all the way to the vehicle. The MOM mark will help identify distributors and oil change locations committed to providing motor oil meeting the performance standard recommended by most vehicle and engine manufacturers.
Motor Oil Matters sent me a visa card to use on an oil change on my next visit, they helped paid for my next one, in the end I only paid $6 because my car needed a tire rotation but sure was nice to have it on them! I received a $50 card from MOM and registered it up and was able to just give it to them and swiped it. I get my oil changes at the Chevy dealership where I bought my brand new car 2012 New Chevy Traverse. So my oil changes are about $50 bucks, they top off everything, tires, oil change, wash and vacuum car. There is quite a few things you always need to keep in mind when getting an oil change. Whats the best oil for your car, choose the 5,000 miles over 3,000 its cheaper too. If you go to like an independent or a jiffy lube, they will always try to sell you, always look at filter, always tell them no, they will sucker you, which is why I do dealership and its cheaper. If your new to oil changes, not normally the one, it can be stressful and confusing, just remember after you go once they keep your records!
- AAA expects between the major summer holidays of Memorial Day and Labor Day to aid over eight million motorists, and cautions drivers that auto maintenance is key to avoiding summertime travel breakdowns. Ensuring quality motor oil in your car is one way to prevent road trip problems.
- Motor Oil Matters, or MOM, a new consumer education and industry watchdog program by the American Petroleum Institute, has been established to stress the benefits of quality licensed motor oils and call on to the carpet those who engage in deceptive practices.
- Service-locators can be quick to offer discounted services to people who are looking to reduce their automotive maintenance costs. Make sure your service provider is pouring quality motor oil into your car before you decide on a cheaper deal.
