About them: Kate Banks and Boris Kulikov play well together. This is their forth collaboration, beginning with Max’s Words and followed by Max’s Dragon and The Eraserheads. They are each married, they each have two sons, and they each have one son named Max. Kate Banks lives with her family in the South of France. Boris Kulikov and his family live in Brooklyn, New York.
My kids and I love adding new books to our collection. My girls have a vast children’s book collection and are always excited to receive more. They both love to be read to and my six year old is now reading on her own so Max’s Castle was a good one for her to read. Max’s Castle is a hard backed children’s book written by Kate Banks and illustrated by Boris Kulikov. This is a sequel to Max’s Words and Max’s Dragon which we have not read but will be doing so now. Max finds a bunch of forgotten toys under his bed. When he pulls them out and begins to play with them, his brothers Benjamin and Karl question why they are so special. Max proceeds to build a castle and takes his brothers through an epic adventure with knights, pirates a dragon and a dungeon. He uses his imagination to create this adventure and his brothers soon realize why these toys are so special. This is a great book and my kids really enjoyed reading it over and over again. I even enjoyed it quite a lot. It is filled with action adventure that keeps you guessing where Max’s imagination will take him and his brothers next. Soon after reading this my kids got some of their old toys out and built a castle and went on their own adventure. I love that it inspired their imaginations. It is a great book and I definitely recommend it. My six year old is reading now and this book was a nice challenge for her. It is a great story and the illustrations really bring it to life. If you are looking for a nice children’s book to add to your little one’s collection then this one is definitely one you don’t want to miss!
