DistribuDOORS
DistribuDOORS

DistribuDOORS that comes to your home to install your LiftMaster GDO that we got for review. So we got our scheduled appointment and they came and installed the Elite Series 8550W. The whole thing took about a couple of hours. Between removing our old one (didn’t work), and replacing with the new one. The guy was quick, friendly, and took us step by step through the whole ordeal. Which I am glad he did, because there is a ton to learn about this GDO.

Elite Series
Elite Series

This Garage Door Opener is pretty awesome, and has a ton of very cool features to it. This box is pretty small, but is packed with so many features in it. So the box same with the Elite Series3-Button Visor Remote Control, Smart Control Panel. We also got a Wireless Keyless Entry System, and a Mini Universal Remote Control as add-on accessories. The whole set up is great and you can purchase the Elite for $225.

Elite
Elite

This LiftMaster Elite Series, is a very quiet GDO, I am amazed at how quiet it is, you barely even hear it going up or down. The garage goes up and down pretty slow, and has sensors for both sides of the walls. We had them move our sensors up higher, than they normally go near the floor, since we don’t have animals, but we do have kids that go in and out of the garage all the time for the ride on toys. The GDO itself is pretty awesome, both of the white parts on the sides come down, and hang for easy access for replacing the bulbs, and adjusting any of the settings. The lights will stay on for a good 30 minutes after the garage goes up or down, this is great for going into the garage late at night. We use the longer lasting bulbs because the normal ones tend to burn out faster.

MyQ
MyQ

This GDO uses a phone app called MyQ which is very cool feature built into it. You can use this app to open, close, check to see if you closed your garage door, and you can be million miles away and still be able to open and close your garage, in case you leave for vacation and forgot you closed it. Also if your vehicle has WiFi built into it, you can program the garage into it, and be able to open your garage that way as well. My husband new truck has this option and is able to use the button in his truck, as long as the vehicle WiFi is on. There is a ton other cool features built into the MyQ app, which can be used on Android and iOS. This Garage Door Opener also has a battery backup on it, so if your power goes out, you will get a good few hours of use, until your power comes back on. This is a great feature for us, since we live in the mountains and our power tends to go out way to much, that way your car isn’t stuck in the garage.

Smart Control Panel
Smart Control Panel

This Smart Control Panel is probably by far one the coolest accessories included in the box. This little box attaches to the inside of your garage. Then has a light button to push so you can turn the lights on the Elite, for when they turn off, and you need extended time with the lights. It does auto turn off after time, so need to push the button again. Also tells the time, and tells you the temperature inside your garage. It will also give you error messages if the Elite is acting up, you can also tell it to shut/open your garage after so many minutes or hours. Great to use when you use your garage door to leave your house more often than your front door, but make sure you have your keys on you, if you don’t have a wireless key entry box.

All in all this is a really awesome Elite Series GDO from LiftMaster. It is very quiet, works really good, has a ton of awesome features built into it. Plus awesome add-on accessories you can get to use with it. The App is pretty much all we use over the remotes, and the clicker that you can put on your key chain to make it easier to open your garage at anytime if you don’t have your phone with you. The Wireless Key Entry Box is also very handy, and my 6-year-old uses it all the time, and easy enough for him to use. Plus has a door that closes on it, so the buttons are hidden and protected for when it rains and snows. Plus uses a 9 volt battery so it will last a long time before you will need to replace it. I have had this for some time now, and haven’t had any issues with it. This works perfectly, and such an improvement over our older GDO that came with the house. We got this LiftMaster Elite Series to review, and DistribuDOORS installed it for us free of charge, which was very awesome of LiftMaster and them. If you’re in the market for a new GDO, consider this one, because the security that comes with it and the app you will know when someone other than you, or in your household opened your garage. Also there was three little boxes that came with this, that you use in your house, that uses the app as well, and can control them to turn on or off, which is great to use when you’re out-of-town, and helps protect your home from being broken into while you’re away.

Disclosure: I received product(s) for free, in exchange for an honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I used personally, and believe will be good fit for consumers.
