Gakken Workbooks

About them: Gakken was established in 1946 based on the conviction of the late Hideto Furuoka, founder and educator. Since its start, Gakken has always used “Education” as criteria for its various forms of publishing. With that central goal, Gakken has published both books and magazines in areas of entertainment, hobbies, practical utilities, and cultural interests. Not limited to only publishing, Gakken has been expanding its scope of business in developing the teaching materials and tools for preschools, kindergartens, and high schools. Gakken is further enhancing its teaching tools by creating unique environments called “Gakken Classrooms” which are both learning centers and places of preparatory schools development.

All three of my kids love to learn and seem to really do well with worksheets and such. My two oldest go to school full time so I do my best to teach my son as much as I am able to at home while they are gone. I feel like since he is my third child he doesn’t quite get the one on one like my other two children did so when I had the opportunity to review the Gakken Workbooks I was pretty excited. The system itself is really neat. It starts at age 2 and up and goes up to ages 3 and up then 4 and up. Each of the workbooks start with Early Learning then movie into Brain Boosters then finally Skill Builders and each builds on skills learned in previous books. I received all 9 of these workbooks and really love them! The first set is for age 2 and up. Play Smart Early Learning contains picture puzzles, counting games, art projects, over 90 colorful stickers and a washable game board. Play Smart Brain Boosters includes cutting and pasting, tracing, matching games, over 100 stickers and a wipe clean game board. Play Smart Skill Builders includes tracing, drawing, matching games, mazes, over 80 stickers and a washable game board. The next set is for ages 3 and up. The first workbook Play Smart Early Learning includes picture puzzles, matching games, art projects, 80 stickers and a washable game board Play Smart Brain Boosters includes picture puzzles, drawing projects, number games, over 100 stickers, and a washable game board. Play Smart Skill Builders includes drawing, cutting, counting games, mazes, over 80 stickers and a washable game board. The age 4 and up set also has three workbooks. Play Smart Skill Builders includes mazes, connect the dots, drawing and coloring, over 80 stickers and a washable game board. Play Smart Brain Boosters includes picture puzzles, number games, mazes, crafts, over 130 stickers and a washable game board. Finally Play Smart School Skils includes picture puzzles, counting games, writing, paper crafts, over 80 stickers and a washable game board. Each of the sticker sets include stickers for each activity and good job stickers for when your child completes the page. These workbooks are fun, colorful and keep my sons interest. Even my preschooler loves going through them with him too! Each of them helps teach them and help them learn skills and knowledge that will benefit them when they get into school! I love these workbooks and highly recommend them if you have little ones at home or if you have little ones that need to fine tune some skills. They are great for learning problem solving skills, pre-reading skills, math, creativity, enhanced reasoning, fine motor skills, focus, decision making skills, vocabulary, social skills and other needed school skills! They have many other books to help teach your kids too!

Disclosure: I received these products for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
