My kids and I had the pleasure of receiving a DVD copy of Disney’s new Elena of Avalor: Ready to Rule to review. It has a feature running time of 90 minutes and has 3 episodes, one of which is a full length adventure. The episodes include First Day of Rule and Model Sister, All Heated Up and Island of Youth. Elena of Avalor is Disney’s newest princess and my kids were super excited to get this DVD to watch. It starts off introducing Elena and her story. An evil woman attacked her parents, trapped Elena in an amulet and took over. Her sister and grandparents were put in a painting for their protection. Over 40 years later, Elena is released and begins to take you through her kingdom on adventures as she proves to herself and those around her that she is ready to take the crown as Queen Elena of Avalor. She must wait till she is of age to take the crown so has to get a council to help her make decisions until she is of age. She goes on many adventures to prove she is heroic and brave and will go beyond measures to protect her kingdom. My girls just love this and can not wait for her next adventures!
