Dulce de Leche by Josephine Caminos Oría

About the Author: Josephine Caminos Oría was born in La Plata, Buenos Aires and moved to America with her family where she began cooking alongside her grandmother. Grandma Dorita instilled a love of all things Argentine in her ,especially dulce de leche. Together with her husband, Gastón, she is the founder of La Dorita, a small-batch, all-natural line of dulce de leche products. The Orías live in Pittsburgh with their five children.

I had always been told how good Dulce de Leche was but had never tried it until I received two jars and a book for review and to include in our Valentine’s Day Gift Guide. I love cooking and baking so when I heard about the Dulce de Leche: Recipes, Stories & Sweet Traditions Book by Josephine Caminos Oría I knew I had to have it! I received it as well as two 14 fl oz sized jars of Dulce de Leche and could not be more impressed with them! The book is phenomenal and I love it! It has some pretty amazing recipes that include several types of Dulce de Leche, breakfast items, treats to go with tea or coffee, small appetizer plates, dinner ideas and desserts! It also includes an area all about the author herself and her story which I found amazing. She shows you through this book how her upbringing inspired her passions and it is quite amazing. It is well written and the recipes are easy to follow and divine tasting! I love that each recipe comes with a story on how it played into Josephine’s life. It makes you feel like she is in the kitchen with you and just gives it a personal touch that traditional recipe books can’t give you. I really love this book and my kids have loved each and every recipe I have made out of it! The two jars of Dulce de Leche I received with the book didn’t last long in my house. The first one we tried was the original Dulce de Leche and the second was Dulce de Leche with Dark Chocolate and my kids went nuts for both of them! They had to have it on their toast, mixed in their milk, on their pancakes and more. If you are looking for a nice Valentine’s Day Gift for that baker in your life then this Dulce de Leche: Recipes, Stories & Sweet Traditions Book is the perfect one for them!

Disclosure: I received these products for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
