A Cowgirl’s Story

About them: Seventeen-year-old Dusty Rhodes (Bailee Madison) goes to live with her grandfather (Pat Boone) because both of her Army parents are fighting in the Afghanistan war. Dusty attends a new high school where she makes friends with a group that includes Savanah (Chloe Lukasiak), a girl whose father also served in the Army. Dusty convinces her new friends into forming an equestrian drill team that allows them to perform at rodeos and parades.

My family and I had the pleasure of receiving a DVD copy of A Cowgirl’s Story for review. It has a feature run time of 98 minutes and is rated PG. It takes place when a 17 year old girl named Dusty Rhodes goes to live with her grandpa after both of her soldier parents are deployed to Afghanistan. Dusty and a group of her new friends start up an equestrian drill team and become closer than ever. A lot of her friends are also children of parents fighting in the war or have had lost parents in the war so they have that in common. After Dusty’s moms helicopter is shot down in Afghanistan and her mom goes missing Dusty must turn to her new friends, grandpa and community for support and to unite the town for the greater good. This is a great family film. It has ups and downs and shows the importance of what having faith and a good support system can do for a person and for a community. I love that it brings people together from all different backgrounds and in all different stages in their lives for one greater cause. A Cowgirl’s Story becomes available on DVD and Digital on April 18th so preorder your copy today!

Disclosure: I received this product for free, in exchange for my honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products and services I used personally, and believe will be a good fit for consumers.
