ButterOnce Knife

About them: J+A Designs was started by husband and wife team of Joe and Anne McMahon in 2015 to create and market simple household products that simplify and enhance everyday life. Joe created ButterOnce because as he put it, “It didn’t make sense there wasn’t a knife that could butter corn on the cob as easily as a buttering a slice of bread.” So the ButterOnce Knife was created. Joe and Anne are excited to bring the ButterOnce Knife to the marketplace.

With summer upon us, our family gathers together and does huge picnics and BBQs together. One of the staples for almost every BBQ we throw or are invited to attend is corn on the cob. We love corn on the cob and look forward to eating it as often as we can! Of course corn on the cob wouldn’t be corn on the cob without butter and salt. Those are the key toppings to make it perfect! Generally I just take a butter cube and run it along the cob. The butter cube gets gross and butter is everywhere. Other times I take the margarine out of the tub with a knife and butter our corn that way. Without fail, the plate ends up with melted butter that ends up getting in all our other food. We eat and enjoy it anyway. When I saw the ButterOnce Corn Butter Knife I honestly thought that it was a pointless gadget that was unneeded. I mean, our methods are messy, but they work and the corn tastes great. However, when I had the opportunity to try out the ButterOnce Corn Butter Knife I had to give it a try. It has a retail price point of $7.99 and is actually an awesome little knife! I was absolutely amazed at how well it worked, how much less of a mess it made and how much less waste of butter their was! You just use the ButterOnce Knife to cut into the butter and it shapes to the corn as you butter it. I was able to butter all our corn with the same scoop of butter with ease. I literally used hardly any butter compared to what I normally use and it tasted just the same! It is easy to use, comfortable in your hands while you are using it and super easy to clean too! It is also stainless steel so you don’t have to worry about it rusting and completely dishwasher safe! Never in my life would I think to have bought this gadget but I am so happy I have one of my own now! It is worth the price and I love how easy and convenient it is to use! If you want to experience less mess, less waste and more evenly distributed butter on your corn on the cobs this summer then this is the gadget for you!
