About them: While celebrating Christmas Eve with one another, we discussed the next holiday we looked forward to. We realized that while our Easter Bunny Traditions varied, our message was the same. Taking into account each of our customs, a wonderful tradition was born. In this special tradition the Easter Bunny has helpers who are each called the “Bunny with the Basket.”
My kids and I had the pleasure of receiving The Bunny with the Basket & the Golden Egg Kit for review. This kit comes with a super cute book written by Jennifer Diehl, Shauna Murray and Lisa Rettino and is fully illustrated by Brian Meulener. It also comes with a cute plush rabbit with a basket that contains a golden egg. My girls loved reading the story and had me read it again and again. 12 days before Easter your Bunny with the Basket arrives with his/her golden egg. You place your bunny in the perfect spot at night when your little ones are asleep and when they wake up and find it they give it a name. My girls named their bunny Starlash. Similar to the Elf on the Shelf, the kids are not allowed to touch the bunny, but get a special message, treat or whatever you want to put in the egg each morning. You hide the egg in a new place each day for the kids to find. Once they find the golden egg and see what is inside, they then write back, add a treat for the bunny, draw a picture or whatever they decide they want to do. My three year old drew a lot of pictures since she can not yet write whereas my five year old wrote the Easter bunny letters every day. They would place the egg back in the basket and wait patiently for the next day to see what surprise awaited them! They loved that Starlash took their letters and treats to the Easter Bunny and it gave them something to look forward to daily. By the end of the 12 days, Easter is here and if the kids have been good they get rewarded with Easter baskets. We love having this Bunny with the Basket Kit as a new Easter tradition and will be looking forward to it every year!
