In 2015, the company released “Bridge of Spies” directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks. The Cold War spy thriller opened in U.S. theaters on October 16, 2015.
I had the pleasure of receiving a Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD copy of Bridge of Spies for review. It is a Steven Spielberg film that takes place during the Cold War. Tom Hanks plays a Brooklyn lawyer by the name of James Donovan. He ends up being recruited to represent a Soviet Spy. Then he is sent by the CIA to negotiate the release of a captured American Pilot as well as another American hostage being kept prisoner. This is a thrilling movie that keeps you on your toes in anticipation to see what will happen next. This movie definitely puts you right in the center of the Cold War and makes you feel like you are right there living it. It is an excellent movie and I enjoyed it very much! Tom Hanks role as the American lawyer was absolutely amazing! He portrayed a character that was willing to risk his own life for the best interest in those he represented as well as those he negotiated release for. This movie also includes a few exciting extras. You can go in depth into the films characters and the real-life people in which those characters are based upon. You can also experience the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, and Frederic Pryor’s arrest through archival images, behind-the scenes and firsthand accounts plus more extras! Bridge of Spies is an excellent movie and I highly recommend watching it!
