About Them: It’s no coincidence that Bell is both the first name in speed and the first name in helmets. Born in the 1950’s California hot rod and racing scene, Bell founder Roy Richter built an entire industry anticipating the unmet needs of those with a speed-hungry disposition. People wanted to drive fast … he corralled all the go-fast parts he could find into the world’s first speed shop. They wanted to race … he built them race cars. And when the need-for-speed started to reveal some grim realities, Roy did something about that too and Bell Helmets was born.
Bell Helmets sent my 4 year old a helmet for his new bike. The helmet is for 5-8 years of age. My son is 4 and almost just about fits him and he weighs 45 pounds. The helmet is strong and durable. Handles hitting the ground just fine. I only seen one scratch out of the many times he was learning how to ride his balance bike. We added some stickers to the helmet so he knows what way the helmet goes on. I just love how strong the helmet is. I can chuck it at the concrete and it won’t even break, bend, scratch, or damage it at all. For the price of the helmet it is totally worth every penny.
