About them: Disney’s Bambi, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, joins the Walt Disney Signature Collection. The Collection release includes a variety of new bonus material, including recordings of Walt Disney discussing the challenges and triumphs during the production of “Bambi;” deleted scenes and characters; stories and effects that “Bambi” had on the Studio, other films and artists; and much, much more. Additionally, the Digital HD release includes an exclusive, heartfelt feature on the incredible artist, Tyrus Wong, who inspired the film’s soft watercolor backgrounds and beautiful palette.
Bambi is one of my favorite classic Disney movies. I watched it nonstop as a kid and am so happy that my kids get to experience it now and have it be a part of their childhood as well. That is one of the main reasons I was thrilled to receive a Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD copy of Bambi for review. It has a feature running time of 70 minutes. This is the 75th anniversary so it joined the Walt Disney Signature Collection! If you don’t know the classic tale of Bambi it is about a fawn named Bambi setting off in an adventure through the forest to learn about his environment, face challenges and find his place as prince of the forest. Thumper and Flower are his best friends and join him in this charming tale. If you have not seen this movie, you need to watch it ASAP. If you have but your kids haven’t, get it for them! It is a classic that should be shared with the entire family! If the movie itself wasn’t enough, this Anniversary Edition also has some awesome special features! These are on the blu-ray disk and include Deleted Scenes, Bambi Fawn Facts, Inside Walt’s Story Meetings and so much more! This is a must have film for your Disney Collection! It came out on Digital HD and Disney Movies on May 23rd and the Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand versions are available on June 6th!
