About Them: One of the oldest surviving traditions inside the Adirondack Park in upstate New York, these baskets were used to carry the heavy loads needed for hunting, fishing, trapping, and other pursuits in the mountain wilderness. Most early Adirondack pack baskets were made using hand pounded black ash wood splints split to satin, with a flat or slightly curved back and a “belly” that bowed out somewhat to increase the volume of the contents the pack could hold.ADK Packworks sells these neat and cool tote bags for at home, shopping, at the beach, hold junk in, and so on. They come in different shapes, colors, and sizes.
They sent me two of the same design, and also comes with a top piece to tighten down whats inside and keeping it inside. They use this gray plastic piece in the bottom that snaps down to help keep them open. These are very lightweight, and can hold at least 20 pounds just fine. I use the smaller one for my make up, and the bigger one for all my hair products, supplies, head bands, hair ties, and so much more. The material is soft, strong, and made very well to hold heavy items fine. These can fold down completely flat for storing away. They go to standing in the matter of seconds. I love these tote like bags. They have handles on the sides for carrying around. These are easy to wash with a rag, dries out great in a warm spot in the house, or outside in the sun. I love how they lay flat so they can be stored away easy, in the car, not talking much room at all.
