About Them: Mo Willems’ works in children’s books, animation, television, theater, and bubble gum card painting have garnered him 3 Caldecott Honors, 2 Geisel Medals, 6 Emmy Awards, 3 Geisel Honors, a Helen Hayes nomination, and multiple bubble gum cards. He is best know for his characters Knuffle Bunny, The Pigeon, and Elephant and Piggie. He is worst known for his characters in Sheep in the Big City and The Off-Beats.
A Big Guy Took MY Ball
My kiddo’s got this pretty neat book from Mo Willems. This book is very simple to read, the colors are pretty mellow and super cute book. I just love how the elephant helps out the piggy from the giant whale that stole the ball. I like how the book explains how it solves the problem in a good manner instead of teaching bad manners. The words are short and quick and very easily to read. I especially love how quick and easy the book goes along, as toddlers attention span is very short. You can also use the pictures to read the books as well!
It’s a Buslaod of Pigeon Books
This book set is very adorable. They are small books with just a few pages long and super simple to read like the one above. They all follow the same lines just a different path. I actually enjoyed reading the 3 book set to my kids for a week straight every night. They are just so adorable. Out of the Hot dog, Don’t let him drive the bus and the don’t stay up late, the Hot dog one is my favorite one. The poor little bird never tried a hot dog before and the pigeon finally in the end shares the hot dog with him, even though through the book he wouldn’t. These books are great learning books as well as adorable. The colors in these books are also mellow and the words are short and very easy to read as well!
