I recently received an Acer Chromebook 15 to check out and share about. I was interested in a Chromebook since that’s what my kids use in their schools and I wanted them to be able to have the same platform at home to use in case they forgot their Chromebook at school. And for my son who is going to be graduating later this month for his furthered education since it’s a platform he is familiar with. The Acer Chromebook 15 is nice and lightweight and features a 15.6″ display, which is the largest on the market for a Chromebook. It gets up to 12 hours of battery life so the kids can use it quite a bit before it needs charged. With it you can access apps from both the Chrome Web Store and the Google Play Store as well as use it for Microsoft Office documents and Gmail. The only thing you can’t access is Windows based games, which is okay by me since it’s going to be used for schooling. Honestly it’s becoming a Google world out there so this is really all you need for the basics of life. I like that the Chromebook is lightweight and easy for the kids to carry, and it is super durable. It’s been reinforced to handle more bumps and drops; the case can withstand up to 132 lbs of force, while the corners can tolerate up to 23.6″ drops without damage. Now that’s a tough computer. Best of all it’s ultra-affordable for $199 at Best Buy.
